Here at Coppertone Kennels, we strive to be different than other breeders. Coppertone Kennels is an ethical and responsible breeder of the highest quality wooly Siberian huskies and Pomskies.

We prioritize health, temperament, structural conformation, activity levels, trainability and workability, and of course, that stunning uniqueness of Coppertone Kennel puppies in comparison to others. In addition to this we also prioritize breeder and client communications and relationships, and husbandry of our canine companions.

Providing proper husbandry means regular grooming, regular vet visits, staying up to date on tier testing, parasite prevention and vaccinations. We provide a combination of high-quality foods. both a balanced raw food diet and our choice of pawTree Lamb, Chickpea & Lentils holistic dog food in conjunction with supplementation by NuVet among others to support healthy coats, guts, eyes and weight. A healthy, happy dog! A part of this proper husbandry is that we provide proper training and socialization. Our dogs are trained in basic and advanced obedience, recall, and select sports best suited for each individual dog. Most important to proper husbandry is that our dogs are treated as family pets, living in our home and having their own separate facilities, yards, and containment suitable for any four-legged family companion! 

Why woolies? 

While woolies may not be of show standard for the Siberian Husky breed, they're still a naturally occurring coat within the breed that is characterized by being a longer, double soft coat. The reason this coat is not preferred by some is because it's required more maintenance and prone to matting without regular grooming. The wooly coat is a recessive gene, meaning it takes two wooly parents, or standard coat parents that each carry a copy of the wooly gene, in order to produce a wooly coat. This means one copy of the gene from the father, and a copy is also needed from the mother. Woolies are typically bred for pets and can be known for having calmer temperaments and moderate activity levels suitable for family life. The pet lines need responsible breeders, too. All of this combined with the fact that we just love the fluff, is why we chose wooly Siberian Huskies over the more often seen standard coat Siberian Huskies.
